FAQ

  • Do you accept insurance?

Alaska Teletherapy, LLC is in network with Premera, BCBS, and Tricare. We will happily bill these insurances on your behalf.

If we are out of network with your insurance company, we have an easy way for you to submit a superbill for reimbursement of your session fees.

  • How do you submit a superbill?

You can find a guide on submitting a superbill to your insurance through Reimbersify here.

Alternatively, you can watch a guide here (coming soon).

Our providers also provide a “how to” session free of charge.

  • You say my protected health information is secure. How does Alaska Teletherapy, LLC keep my information safe?

Many different ways ranging from proper upkeep of computers and antivirus software to ensuring third-party venters meet minimum security measures required by the HIPPA Security Rule and industry standards.

  • I don't trust AI. How do you keep my private information safe?

Alaska Teletherapy, LLC has a policy to de-identify and delete unnecessary information whenever possible. For example, in Upheal, your profile is labeled in shorthand code rather than using your legal name.

If you have a specific concern, feel free to contact us or discuss with a provider.

  • Why do you use Google Drive as an EHR? Wouldn't there be more "professional" options?

There are more “professional” options and we have tried many. We will miss the aesthetic and some fancy features but we wont miss the constant changes, needless bloat, and increasing costs.

Among other reasons, using Google Drive allows our providers the most flexibility while allowing the client more access and control over their medical record. The collaboration options are a bonus too.

  • How do I open my password protected PDF document?

A random password is generated and texted to the phone number on file when the email is sent. After you open the PDF it will prompt you for a password. Use the password texted to you.

You can find a how to guide here (coming soon).

If your primary phone number has changed, please update it here.

  • How is our chat secured and protected?

The way the data is sent from the chat app is different than how a text is sent. In addition to that, Alaska Teletherapy only partners with companies that protect your data with the highest security. We cannot guarantee a phone company and cellular data submission is secure.

Alaska Teletherapy cannot guarantee the security of your data once it reaches your device. It is encouraged that you do not share your passwords with anyone.
